As a company we are very passionate about team sports and how these support networks can help children and adults to build positive relationships that last a lifetime, as well as educating them on the physical and mental health benefits of exercise.

Environmental
Working in what has previously been seen as a fossil fuel centric industry has not always given us the opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint as much as we would like to here at Demon International. However that has not stopped us trying to do our bit for the environment over the past 40 years. At our factory in Devon we currently have:
- A rain water harvesting tank that was installed in 2010 which lowers our mains water consumption by 80%
- Solar panels that were installed in 2010 that offset 25% of the electricity we use with renewable energy
- We shred and reuse 95% of waste paper in our spares packaging
- We save and reuse 95% of cardboard boxes that we receive in our spares packaging
- We save and reuse 100% of pallets that we receive
- We have installed LED lighting in our buildings
Product Innovation
In 2011 we recognised a need for a battery powered alternative to the fossil fuel pressure washers that were functional in places that do not have access to mains electricity. Since then we have been developing our battery range and due to the advances in battery technology in the past few years, we now believe that we have developed a range that is equal in quality and efficiency to the fossil fueled machines.
Giving our customers a green alternative when they are enquiring about our pressure washers is extremely important to us, and we try our best to express the benefits of these machines compared to the fossil fueled options that saturate the market. If we can encourage even 1 in 10 of our customers to go green then we have succeeded, we strive to make a difference no matter how small.
We continue to develop and expand our battery range of pressure washers so that we have the ability to offer more electric alternatives to our customers. We hope that we can change the mainstream perception of pressure washers from fossil fuelled to battery/electric powered.
The Future is Green
But the journey isn’t over yet!
We are always looking for ways to lower our carbon footprint even more. Currently we are looking into a few different avenues to achieve this.
We are looking into getting an energy provider that can provide 100% renewable energy. If we can achieve this the electricity that we use will have zero carbon footprint. And as we have solar panels we will have the ability to put 100% of the renewable energy that we produce at our factory into the national grid for others to benefit from.
Another project that we are hoping to get started on in the next couple of years are the vehicles that we use for deliveries and repairs. We are currently looking at two options for the future, using Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) in our vehicles instead of diesel which would reduce the carbon impact by 90%. Alternatively we are looking at replacing the vehicles that we own for newer, more efficient vehicles; the technology in Plug-In Hybrid’s and Electric Vehicles has now improved to the level that they can be a viable option for commercial use.
Every step we take on the carbon neutral path is a step in the right direction. We know that it will take time to become carbon neutral but all of the hard work will be worth it when we accomplish our goal.
